Among others:
1.) The offer did not include benefits and paid far below industry standards for not having benefits (previous messages had implied benefits were included).
2.) I had initially been told the hiring manager was one individual, then told it was another.
3.) I had not spoken to ANYONE at the hiring company since my application was supposedly submitted, including the hiring manager.
4.) I was pressured to accept immediately, verbally, without first seeing the actual offer or any details.
5.) The offer details which were later provided had nothing to do with an actual offer, and consisted only of the job description I had previously been sent.
I was able to negotiate the ability to consider their "offer" over the weekend, during which time I reached out to my contacts from previous interactions with the hiring company to verify the authenticity of this offer. I was connected to the internal recruiter handling the actual position who informed me in no uncertain terms that they were not working with ANY external firms to fill this position, that the offer I had received was NOT from them (i.e. fraudulent).
Having confirmed the offer was fraudulent, I informed the "recruiter" that I would not be accepting the offer as the hiring company would not verify its authenticity and requested they no longer contact me. I have not been contacted since sending that email.
