I received a random text from someone by the name of Antonis Apostolou saying he was from Paralos Energy, located in Greece. I am located in PA. He stated that my resume was posted onto a job board and that I would be a valuable asset to the company. He instructed me to download the Telegram app onto my laptop and onto my cell phone. He stated the job was for Data Entry/Administrative Assistant paying, $29.75 an hour. He gave the hiring managers username and instructed for me to contact her. I did all of this and my main objective was to gather information about the job but I was immediately interviewed. The entire interview lasted over an hour. I was told that I got the job and that I was to log onto Telegram at 8:00 AM the next day and not to be late. I was told that new hire paperwork would be sent to me to fill out and I was told to scan it and send it back immediately. She also asked if I wanted a check or Direct Deposit, and if I wanted to be paid bi-weekly or weekly. She then said that a check would be mailed to me and for me to let it clear in 1-2 days and then for me to go out and purchase the software needed, the laptop and scanner as well. She also asked what bank I used and how long I had my bank account there. Red flags were flying high for me throughout this process so I saved the entire conversation we had onto an empty Word document. Oddly the last part of our conversation I was not able to save but I took a picture of it on my cell phone. The next day the woman sent me an e-mail at 7:00 AM welcoming me to the company along with paperwork to be filled out. I at that time responded and told her that I was not interested in the position. I am very thankful that I did not give her my social security number, bank routing number and account number. This is all very disappointing to me. I am currently laid off from my job and need a job and now I feel very cautioned but I am AWARE! Beware of the job scammers.
