I applied for a cashier's position at Walmart and later received an offer to work as a secret shopper. The offer included a staff code and instructions to access their website.

A week later, I received a Priority Mail package containing a $4,900 check along with instructions to deposit it and purchase money orders totaling $4,000, with $900 designated as my pay. The package provided a contact name, "Daniel," and a phone number (626-316-2973), with instructions to call within 24 hours of receiving the package.

Suspecting fraud, I searched online to verify Walmart's involvement and found reports of similar scams. The information also advised to report the incident to the FBI.

I received a priority mail with a letter and a check for $2400 to be a secret shopper. I was to deposit the check and keep $400 and buy $2000 worth of gift cards and then send back a report on the buying of these cards as well as the card information. I immediately knew it was a scam and that the check seemed fake. Additionally there is no business name on any of the correspondence, the letter is from Song Lee yet the check is from some one named Ramey and the letter came from a third person (I do not still have the envelope). They have texted multiple times to which I told them this is a scam and to stop texting me. I blocked the numbers. They also have tried other phone numbers which I have since blocked as well. Today I received an email from them as well which I will be blocking.
