Like the person who submitted the original complaint, I received the email from "Kathy" and then emailed "Henry." Henry facilitated a text-only interview via Microsoft Teams, which felt sketchy, but I've seen worse from companies.

I completed a 25-minute questionnaire that seemed pretty basic; then Henry alerted me that I'd been hired the following day (today, 6/21/23). I received an email from the recruitment@ account; it included a blank w4, an emergency contact form, and a contract offer with a supposed signature from Raindrop's CEO.

However, it felt too good to be true. A quick Google and LinkedIn search proved my intuition correct. I learned that "Henry Gibson" is a deceased TV actor and that Raindrop has no person with that name working for their company. They also do not feature any person with the "Chief Hiring Officer" title as claimed.

I first received an email from “Kathy” directing me to email Scott Musser ([email protected]) for a Content Editor role. I also received a text from +1 (631) 246-0976 claiming to be a Michael Raymond from RAINDROP directing me to the email. Neither Scott Musser, Kathy, or Michael Raymond appear on LinkedIn as employees of the company.
