I was contact via text saying I was found on Indeed for a remote position and would I like to interview with HR. I said yes because I had applied for some remote positions. I was told the HR manager would contact me to set up a zoom interview. Again, only a pink flag not yet red. I was sent an offer letter that wasn't signed from a Gmail account and was told they were working on the server. Now the flag is red. He wanted me to fill out a W4 and I9- with my social, dob, etc and that's where I hit the brakes. I pushed for contact info of someone to speak with live and he gave me the name and number of "John Gold" who is listed nowhere connected to this company and said "it's a remote job, he's in Texas, you can call him now". Needless to say that I didn't call his friend John. Then he said the company would be sending me a check to deposit to pay for a computer and whatnot. He stopped responding when I called him out for scamming. I can send the entire conversation that was done in Zoom chat- as there was never a call- but it would have to be in many, many screenshots because I don't see a way to export.
