My wife and I and were victims of an online scam orchestrated by individuals posing as employers from a travel agency. The scam commenced upon responding to an ad for an "Online Tourist Assistant" position on a WhatsApp group. I was contacted by Konanki Prakasham, who later referred me to Sharon Hird. Sharon introduced an online job where I was to review travel packages on their platform, promising a daily wage of$ 100-$120 plus a bonus of 800 CAD for 5 days of work. The work involved rating travel packages, with a target of 40 appraisals daily. The communication was mainly via Telegram during this work.

On the first day, I earned 200 CAD but had to e-transfer funds thrice due to 'premium tickets' on their platform a total of 50$. The following days I saw an increase in earnings, but with a requirement to transfer larger sums for 'premium tickets'. By the fourth and fifth days, I couldn't finish what I began on the third day. My final day friday, a request for 13.5K CAD in crypto was made which I couldn't fulfill right at the end, 2 ratings to go. The scam led to a total financial loss of approximately 10.5K CAD, plunging our bank accounts into negatives. We have been left in a severe financial crisis, with bills to pay and no money. The distress caused is immeasurable, and the shame I feel for endangering my family's financial stability is overwhelming. I have conversation records on Messenger, WhatsApp and Telegram, and screenshots of transactions as evidence.

The scam appears to be operated from outside Canada. I desire legal action against Sharon Hird and the recovery of our lost funds to alleviate our current financial distress. This scam has not only robbed us of our hard-earned money but has also left us in a state of financial insecurity and emotional turmoil. We hope this report aids in apprehending the culprits and preventing such scams in the future.
