A bogus recruiter for an online agency supplying translation / editing / proofreading services called Frederick C. Stearns approached me through a Facebook teaching profession page, and directed me to a contact called Bruce Dwayne on Telegram. He sent me a PDF file of a book about the Vietnam War which needed (a lot of) editing and transferring onto Word. Having submitted the finished document he asked for $180 for a Payment Permit in lieu of a supposed $1,800 payment for the work ! I then found the book, already edited, published on a U.S. University course website. 😥 They had obviously downloaded it using CRS and messed it up as though it had been hurriedly submitted by the author. Two days' intense work wasted. Be warned !

I've just joined a Facebook page in Colombia named English teachers in Colombia. A member from this page named Fredrick C Stearns which profile I reviewed and is a recent created profile with few photos apparently taken from the internet contacted me and redirected me to a telegram account under the name of Samuel David, they are asking to do a task and they offered to pay 1800 US dollars for rewriting a document from images to PDF it is kind of weird that they are paying that huge amount of money for a simple task now I have read the case above and I'm scared I'll inform the managers of the facebook page.

Person: Saidu aliyu Inga posted job offer on Facebook page: English teachers in Colombia, and directed me to Samuel David’s telegram chat. They offered me a translating job for $3700 if I completed work in 5 days.
They asked for my name, phone number, email, Age, Gender, country and profession.
I provided information and sent them the translation to email provided which was: www.flexonlinejobsgroup.com
Once info was sent they sent an email saying I needed to pay a remote permit library card. Cost of $200 so that they could provide payment. Transfer needed to be via telegram.
I didn’t send anything but now I’m worried that scammers have my name contact number and email.
