I was told to download a specific app. for an online interview, which I thought was going to be completed by a Zoom session for Data Entry for $29/hr., however, it was a typing interview. I was naturally offered the position and they stated that the equipment for services would be sent out to me within 3-5 business days, when in fact, I received a check (a fraudulent Wells Fargo check) in the amount of $4,850.00. The person named "Duncan Thomas" stated that I was to send him my social security card picture, along with my license, which I unknowingly did before receiving this check. When I received this information, along with the check, the instructions were to deposit the check into my bank and send Mr. Kendrick Wilder, the Financial HR department, my deposit slip, with my name and phone number to a Hotmail address. FLAG! If I didn't do this, the funds would not be released. I requested a Zoom meeting after realizing that something was wrong and the following day, as opposed to right away, like he used to respond, told me that "they have other candidates and if I don't trust their company, etc.." I then texted back to leave me alone scammers. I already had my credit reports frozen.

I was contacted by email on 3/27/23 with interested from the company -Fashion Drive Style- about hiring me. On 3/28/23 I had an interview via Skype with a lady named Kathleen Winters. I had to fill out an interview survey and answer questions. She said if the company was interested in me, I would here from Mr. Alessandro Buruno. He called me the next day on 3/29/23, and asked me to name 5 reasons why the company would benefit from hiring me, asked why I wanted to work for this company, along with my availability. He gave me a vague run down of what the company was about, and that I would doing research and social media, as they partnered with luxury vehicle and clothing brands. He said if I was to be hired, I would hear from Human Resources. I was contacted by the HR department with an employment offer on 3/30/23. I was asked to fill out a W-2 form and my direct deposit, which completed and returned via email. The company sent me a check (which I still have) around the amount of $3470 to purchase my home office equipment since this was a remote job. They were going to supply the vendor to purchase a mac book laptop, printer, and other office supplies. I did a mobile deposit of the check on 4/7/23 and it said it would take until 4/13/23 to clear. I've been with Bank of America since I was a teenager, and today Bank of America closed my account for depositing a fraudulent check. I'm in shock and disbelief, not only to NOT have a job, but also be a victim of fraudulent activities. I'm filing a claim with Bank of America, the local police department and the FTC. I also froze all 3 credit bureaus. Please let me know if there is any other way to protect my identity. This company needs to be stopped!
