Employment - Fake Check - Credit Card Payoff Scam Reports & Reviews (1)

- Lexington, NC, USA • Nov 15, 2023

This began on 9/26/2023. As the other stated all communication was via phone and email. Mainly email and text with me. They had a 2 week test period to have me understand the business and through that time would use my credit cards, Amex and Apple, to purchase items, get reimbursed through a bank account they sent me (all discover banks) and once cleared then ship the items with a FedEx label she sent me. All packages went to Hong Kong (attached shipping labels) and labels generated in California. After the two weeks I would begin doing B2B orders through a computer program they have, use their corporate credit card they setup for me (never saw) for payments and send me a computer and printer for the work. This computer, nor printer and corporate credit card promised ever came to light. I would continue to go to Best Buy and Apple Store and purchase as much as possible and keep going. I did have one payment bounce which was chalked up to finance person not doing their job and sent me a different account to use. All together there were 6 accounts sent to use to pay off the credit cards. Her excuse was that their vendors had the accounts and that is how they pay. My first “paycheck” was $46,500 and a donation from a Jewish center charity. This was a bogus check from a closed account and never repaid. I did ask to have the money either wired or sent via certified check which she then replied a few days after with we can wire $65,000 and use the other to send laptops to Israel and supply students who were learning remote with the laptops. I never saw this money and until yesterday there was a week and a few days of silence from her. She then emailed stating she had Covid and wasn’t able to get into the office. (Note there is no office but looks to be a shared space in NYC according to the address). She was now offering me $400,000 to cover payments of purchases and to use to pay myself the back pay of around $26,000 and any bounced payments from the credit cards. I have been in contact with Amex as they have been asking for me to fill out a ownership form for bank accounts which of course Andy Baker could not supply and would ignore the ask in emails. Today, after asking for certified check payment and to tell her I do not feel comfortable taking $400,000 and depositing, the bank account payments on my Amex and Apple Card’s began to bounce. I then sent an email asking for $130,000 certified check to cover both my pay, fees attached to the bounces, and the payment amounts. No response and likely will not get one or see any money come from this job.
