They seem legit until they assign your first task where they say they’ll send the money for you to purchase the items.

I received an unsolicited email from '[email protected]'. They claimed to be opening a new office nearby and were offering me a job. They gave me a list and let me choose which to pick. They said they had gotten my CV from a third party site so I don't have any idea why they would want me as an office manager or an accountant, jobs I have no experience or knowledge with. After sending an application for "Data Entry Clerk", they then approved me and sent me an agreement BEFORE an interview. The agreement had a few English errors. They were also vague about key details such as duration of the position, whether it's remote or in-person, and when the start date is.

At this point, I did some digging and found that they are impersonating a real company, Clancy & Company. The fraudulent Clancy uses the same address as the real one. I contacted the real Clancy using emails I found from https://www.clancyca.com/html/contact.html. I received a reply confirming that they, [email protected], are indeed scammers. Photo of email attached.

Do NOT engage them at all. [email protected] is not offering legitimate positions and do not represent the real C&C.

I am a lawyer, recently shifted to Toronto. I am applying to a hell lot of jobs everyday and this scammer named as Wasfia Ibrahim mailed me regarding numerous job opportunities available at her new offices in various cities in Ontario.

The red flags in the mail read like this-

“As our office is currently closed, we kindly request that you send any necessary information via email, as in-person visits are currently restricted.”

“Please note that renovation work is currently underway at our main office, limiting visits until next week.
The interview will be over the phone. The company cares about the health of its employees.”

No employer in the whole world writes things about renovations in an introductory mail!

At that point, I googled the website and names of the people - Wasfia Ibrahim and David Clancy(the signature at the end of the pdf). There are zero LinkedIn results by those names and by the company name as well.

They have created a legit website by the name Clancy & Company LLP to fool the job seekers and approach saying that they got the resume from a third-party not to mention any job search apps to avoid legal action.

Hey I sent them my ID and work permit is there in any way these can be used to my demise?

I was contacted through email by Wasfia Ibrahim telliing me my resume was forwarded to them by a third party recruitment agency and asking me if I am still interested in the position. I replied and said I am interested then she sent a copy of the job list with all the job vacancies and their website. Their website is called Clancy and Company LLC and looked very legit. You will even see their contact number and email matches the one they are using to contact you. I was asked to do the next step which is signing up a contract and sent it back to them. I was also asked to install the telegram messenger app on my phone as she said they are using it as means of communication in the company. Then she sent a congratulations message that I was hired and asked for a void check so they can use it to pay for my training. After that I was booked for an interview on February 13, 2024. I received a message that she is ready for the interview and at some point in time their accountant will call me too... Before it happens, I was able to find one report here at ScamPulse.com with the exact same scenario. I did not show up for the interview and deleted the telegram app and planned to call my bank to report it too. Be careful everyone they seem so professional in doing it...

I received a job offer checked through the company and email everything is real then she said sign a contract we are opening a new office in Toronto. You are appointed and she congratulated me. I new at that time it’s a scam because without an interview how can someone offering a job. Then she said down load the telegram messenger app asked me to send the void cheque to create a payroll I did everything. Then she said I am going on an office trip I will be available only February 5th 2024. Then she came back and text me one of our accounts will contact you and give you an assessment once you do that we will start your paid training. So some one called me name Andrew explains about the new office all blah blah then he your first assignment is we will send you an Invoice and also we will send money to your account we want to see how you purchase that equipment and pay for it. Asking for my card details I refused it. Then he said ok your job manager wasfia will contact you. So in half an hour I received a text you did not do our first appointment so your contract is terminated. Why I am reporting this is look all real but in the end they ask to purchase and for that also they will transfer funds to your bank. So please be careful.
