Same here! I have been texted multiple times and a United States Postal Serice Priority Mail with a Mystery Shopper job offered. Sent me a letter saying cashier check enclosed. Check just had “ official” check at top. Check for $2,390.73. I was supposed to keep $295 as commission. I was given list of 6 stores I could pick any two. I was to report all details of my transaction as supposedly AMEX was checking on customer service. Store one , purcjase $45 worth of groceries and 2 $500 Amex gift cards. Store 2 just purchase 2 $500 Amex gift cards. If stores don’t have $500 cards, buy $200 cards instead. Take photos front/back and email to [email protected]. Keep cards for next assignment. Letter had no company name/letterhead. Had several grammatical errors. My sister alerted me she had heard about mystery shopper scams. I realized this was a scam. Why would they need copies of the cards etc. I googled Eminent Shopper mystery shoppers. Two links came up for Sri Lanka and Nigeria. Two countries known for scams. I want to warn people and maybe catch this guy.
