I was browsing Facebook newsfeed on January 1 and clicked on one of the many dress casual shoe ads that kept popping up in my newsfeed. I ordered 2 pairs of shoes from ElmoSantino website and paid with credit card. I received confirmation order email and was able to see delivery expectation and tracking information. On day of delivery, I did not find a package at my door nor was ther akey in my mailbox to the package box holder. Instead, I received first one packet (small hand-sized bag) and then later a second packet. I opened each packet and one packet contained 2 electrical cord/wire holder clips and the other contained 3 pieces from a Scrabble game and a silver ribbon strip. There was no packing slip in either packet and I only put two and two together when I went back and referenced the "View My Order" page and noted the USPS shipping tracking number listed there was the same as the tracking number on each packet. Since the items received were not shoes, I immediately realized that I had been scammed by a fraudulent operation running what appeared to be a legitimate ecommerce website. I immediately contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge since the alleged merchant did not respond to my email. Whoever is behind this scam did respond to my credit card company to assert that packages had been delivered and provided the tracking confirmation summary as proof. I supplied pictures of the items I received as well as the packets and my order confirmation email. The address listed for the outfit in Albuquerque, NM is a pin drop in the intersection of a residential area. The address on the packets are an Amazon warehouse distribution center in CT. The perpetrator created the bogus NM address that is listed on website and likely selected the Amazon Distribution Center in CT just to appear legitimate.
