My situation is the same at the others, I was online rec'd all the sirens and flashing screen that I had been scammed. I thought I called Microsoft but reached this security company. Even though I know better and am very embarrassed that I fell for it hook line and sinker, they are very convincing. They had me let them sign on to my surface pro (another Red Flag) and showed me how fast over 400 laptops tried to take over my computer and showed me where I went wrong and all of my passwords and how I was not to worry, they will fix everything for me. They also explained that this happens through the internet and gained access to that as well. The amount at first was over $1,000 when i said no they lowered it to the $699 and added a year in order to make it enticing I'm sure, which I believed. (I know better). They sent contracts that I e-signed and had me scan a signed ck to them (another red flag) this has been since March of 2023. Every month they were calling and doing the monthly clean up. Every month they asked me to call them and ask for well, one month it was a lady and she asked me to ask for her Mike Smith and in August the man said he was my case manager and to ask for Josephe Smith odd right but, on the date, they would keep calling until they got through. I took some screen shots from the first day and other days and can provide them if I have to, In September they did not call so I called them all I got was a rapid busy signal. So yesterday the 9th of October I called again and again rapid busy signal so I looked at the screen shots and called the alternative number The man that answered said not to worry they are just experiencing high call volume and he would have someone call me. in the meantime I scrolled down and saw this website and read all the notes of fraud and how similar if not identical to my story and the exact numbers and names, So i called Microsoft and cleaned my computer by doing a reset and called my internet service which by the way has been running very slow, I believe the internet is what they are really after as I have checked my credit bureau and It does not appear to be hacked nor my checking acct. But who knows? I caution everyone to check with their internet providers and if this company can reach out to them to not forget about the Intrnet I'm sure that is what they are steeling among other things. I have not answered their call yet nor made them aware I am on to them. Good luck everyone and I hate that I lost $699.23.
