Elite Performance Chiropractic/Meru Health Reports & Reviews (1)

I applied for a job on Indeed for a Data Entry Clerk. When I applied I received acceptance email and instructions to complete two tests, a data entry test and a typing test. I completed both and a couple days later I received a text message from a Michael Vardy claiming he was from Meru Health (not Elite Performance Chiropractic, the company of the job I applied for), flag #1. In Mr. Vardy's text message he instructed me to download the app 'Telegram' as this was how they would contact me. He also instructed me to contact Madison Pitt once I had Telegram downloaded via a link in his text: https://t.me/officedeskmadison). Once I had downloaded Telegram and selected the link for Madison she said they had a system upgrade and her new account was https://t.me/officedeskpitt. Once I did this we were able to continue on with the interview. She said her conversation was the first step and once we concluded this discussion she would transfer me to another who would actually conduct the interview. She asked some more about me, described the position requirements a little more, gave me a link to Meru Health so I could check out the website (nice touch). She asked for my experience in several functions: Excel, Auditing, etc. She then said she would send my answers to her supervisor. A half hour later she text me back and said I had the job. Flag #2. Hiring does not happen this fast. But I still went with it, I know I had not given her anything personal up to this point. Her next text is where the last, and most important flag, came into play. She gave me my hours and I was expected to be available at 8:00 am the next day to start with my training supervisor. She then said I would need special equipment: an Apple laptop; all in one printer, scanner, fax; iPhone X; telephone and mini office stationary software. Of course this was at no cost to me, they would send me a check to cover the cost of these items. That's when I started doing more research and contacted Meru Health to see if these people were legit with their company. Meru Health emailed me back that they were not affiliated with them. I also googled employment scams and several steps scammers use happened in my situation. I have downloaded the text conversations and still have the employment emails sent from these people. I am pretty sure they have already changed addresses so you won't find them but it would be nice to put this out there for others to be aware. Thank you.
