Our Electric service is provided by Owen Electric. However, the scammer did not mention any electric company by name. The caller said this is an automated call to attempt to collect a past due electric bill. The caller stated that our electricity service would be disconnected today if we did not pay the bill. They said we could remedy the situation by pressing 1 on our phone to be connected to an agent. I knew we had a $0 balance due to Owen Electric and suspected this was a scam so I hung up the phone.
