E-ITA Scam
Here's what happened to me...
I purchased the digital and paper version of the IDP, which said it was valid in many countries, including Thailand.
When I was stopped, along with many others, at a police checkpoint in Thailand, I presented my drivers license and the paper IDP from E-ITA, as instructed should be done by E-ITA. The police officer immediately recognized the IDP as having been purchased online and therefore was deemed potentially fraudulent. As a result, he did not accept it and issue me a ticket, which I had to pay at the police station.
When I contacted E-ITA from one email address, they replied with bogus answers and said they would no longer be replying. When I contacted E-ITA from a different email address, requesting a refund in accordance with their refund policy available online (https://e-ita.org/refund-policy/, to which I fully adhered), they ignored the email and never replied.
It's clear that they sell a product which they do not support, and do not honor their published refund policy.
Avoid at all costs.
Scam & Rip Off Avoid E-ITA
Smoking mirrors with lame replicas that have no stature legally. This document is not accepted in Italy and served a costly fine if caught using it.
Furthermore there is a shotgun clause in their terms stating "By accessing the website at e-ita, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms of service, all applicable laws and regulations, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws" So, you the driver are responsible with any traffic infractions surrounding these fake documents.

Type of a scam Online Purchase
I was initially fighting via email with them because I never received my IDP but today I spoke to local authorities in Italy and they informed me that their IDPs are illegitimate and unacceptable here in Italy. They have all of my personal information and my credit card information.
