I received an email response telling me they couldn't give me the location of the house until I filed my credit report with efreeScore.com
Unfortunately, I entered all my information on that website. Of course I never heard back from the supposed landlord. I am now worried that they have all my credit info. I have asked them to close the account - they say they will "get back to me." Although I have not lost money yet, I see others have reported this as a scam.

Thank you for your interest in the property listed for rent. You were the second to reach out from the ad. The first prospective tenant no longer had to move because of his work situation. So we give the opportunity to you. We just completed all new renovations and are currently ready to lease with flexible terms. We will work together with you on move in date, lease security deposit and length.
I understand you desire the exact address of the property but we do want not to disclose the address before you're qualified. We have had a string of break ins, squatters and thefts at our other properties. We want to prevent that with this property due to the renovations that have cost a great deal of money. You will be the first to move in with the renovations.
All utilities are priced into the lease along with garage parking spaces. The appliances in the kitchen and laundry room were just installed. You have the option to pick your paint color and flooring prior to your move in
When you're ready for a personal appointment, then please go to the link below and grab your credit report. We recommend this site because all of our tenants used it and haven't had any problems. Just fill out the form and indicate that you want the report. We aren't interested in specifics of your report, it's more of a formality to ensure you have rental history. through efreescore.com. When I spoke with a representative from efreescore.com customer service, she refused to provide an email confirming this, but hinted that this is, indeed, the case (i.e., the company "associates" with third party affiliates who encourage consumers to use their website for financial incentives). From conducting online research, it seems as if similar accounts with efreescore.com have been reported. How can this be possibly legal?!! I've contacted major agencies and truly hope that something can be done to stop companies such as efreescore.com from scamming consumers. I've included the message I received below.

Great to speak with you. The unit is here still to rent. We thought
we had the unit leased to someone that we gave a walk-through to

doesn't want me to advertise the address as a measure of safety.
