I was first called at work by a woman claiming to be from the county. She "asked" me if I was available to be served. I said no I am not and what is this regarding? She then said she did not have any details but gave me a phone # for Edwards & Associates law firm along with my case #. Said she would "put a hold" on them serving me. I called the phone # she provided and spoke to Sophia. I gave her my case # and she then spouted off the last 4 digits of my SS# and my DOB. She also read off something which was on my credit history from 12 years ago. She put me on hold to get my file, she came back and said I owed $1416.90 for a hospital visit in 2007, so 11 years ago. The hospital is in Florida and I now live in Michigan. I confirmed that I received treatment but thought the bill was paid. She said they have mailed me all of the information already and read off my mother in law's address and PO Box #. I told her that was not my address. I gave her my email address to send me the information as I have seen nothing about this. She emailed me right away but only with an e-doc to sign and make payment. Nothing else. It did have Spencer, Edwards & Associates as the header. I called back and got a different person, they answer the phone "Litigation". She was very rude. I explained that I had consulted with an attorney and that the statute of limitations was up on this and I am not legally responsible. She then tells me that I signed a "tolling agreement" which makes the statute null and void. Said they are taking me to court if I do not pay. When I refused to pay and again asked for some paperwork on this to be sent to me, along with the so called tolling agreement, she said "good luck" and hung up on me. Then today Sophia called me back. I told her what I told the other woman and that I still have not received anything and I do not know who they are and will not be giving them any money. I told her I will fight this to the end. She stated that they have sent me all 5 things that they are legally required to send... No I only received an emailed e-doc to make payment. I started to tell her to not call me any more and she hung up on me.

Received a phone call where the woman said she was leaving a message for my mother in the attempts to contact her about a complaint filed against her with Edward & Associates in Pierce County and my mother need to call 855-418-5097 soon to resolve this litigation. The women used my full name and my mothers married name (she is now divorced and no longer uses that name). We did not call that number given. Also, my mother does not live in Washington State (where Pierce County is located) anymore and I live in Boise, ID.
