I saw a post in a Facebook group for background actors and models in Dallas, TX for a headphone shoot with Eddie Shawn Photography, I submitted my photos and social media account, and a few weeks later received a booking request. They said they would send me an upfront check (a $500 retainer) along with money for wardrobe costs, but that I would have to pay those directly to a designer. It all sounded fishy and when I went back to find the original post it was gone. I noticed a glitch on the photographer’s website that said Whitney Ward, and a quick google search led me to a similar scam report here on BBB.
