this seller begins by an ad on craigslist. His add says he is selling a MacBook Pro which would be over the phone or through craigslist email as he has both on the site. once he has gotten his victim he says that the link to his eBay account id best, and that to better complete the transaction one should get gift cards and use the link he provides. here is the link:

the website looks a lot like eBay, and for those who do not use the platform like myself regularly you wouldn't suspect it being fraud. I contacted eBay.com and they said they cannot provide me with a refund because they have no control over how the gift cards are managed. this is absurd because on the gift card disclaimer the cards are not redeemable anywhere else but eBay.com. I then filed a report both the etc.gov and ic3.gov websites along with a police report which I will be doing shortly.
