Hi there,
My name is Barbara, happy to see you are interested in my Golf cart 2015 club cart Precedent Alpha/Sound System. E.R.I.C Smart Charger This cart has in showroom condition, garaged kept, super clean. It runs absolutely perfect and goes up to 25mph. The dash is carbon fiber with 4 cup holders and 2 locking glove boxes. The top is carbon fiber as well with a DVD / CD / USB. 23” Tires and 14” Wheels. Cart is street legal with LED headlights/taillights, brake lights, turn signals, horn, and emergency flashers. My husband passed away 2 months ago, and I decided to sell the golf cart for only $1,200, because it brings back a lot of memories. I want to sell the golf cart online using eBay, so, if you are interested in buying it, and would like to know more info about how it works, please let me know asap.

I said that I was indeed interested, and received the following email with several pictures of the cart attached:
Thanks so much for getting back to me. After my husband passed, I had to move to my hometown, Lawrence, KS for a new start. Before leaving I had pre-arranged the deal with eBay so my presence isn't necessary. The golf cart is at a shipping company chosen by eBay, sealed with all the papers. The deal includes free delivery and it will arrive at your address within 3 days with all the documents, manuals and keys. In addition, you will get a 5 days inspection period before making any purchase, and if you find something wrong with the golf cart, you can just return it on my expense. If you are interested in knowing more info about how it works, please reply with your full name, full shipping address and phone #, so I can notify eBay that you are selected as my possible buyer, and they will contact you to explain the entire procedure.

I again confirmed that I was interested, so a third email came:
I just received the notification from eBay, saying that they already sent you the invoice and are waiting to complete and confirm the payment with them. From my side everything is done. The golf cart will be delivered to you in max 3 days after the payment is confirmed with eBay. All the documents, including the title, bill of sale, owner manual, receipts and keys will be provided at delivery. If you have any questions about our transaction, please call eBay Customer Support at: (424)-209-9113.
I then received an email from "eBay Motors" from the address [email protected] which read:
Dear XXXXXX (My name)
You can find the invoice for your item 2015 Club Car Precedent Alpha Golf Cart attached to this email. (See attachment)
For a better understanding on how to complete your transaction it is necessary for you to read the invoice carefully !
This invoice is in PDF electronic format. Double click on the attached file to view the invoice and save out a hard-copy for your records.

The email had an attachment which told me I had to purchase the vehicle using eBay gift cards, which can only be loaded with $200. It said to purchase 6 cards and email them the numbers and activation codes. This was a major red flag, so I searched for golf cart scams and found several on the ScamPulse.com website that used the exact same language. I stopped contact at that point, since this was clearly a scam.
