THEY SAID MY COMPUTOR WAS BEING HACKED CHARGED $637.44 TO GET IT BACK ON-LINE. THEN RECIEVED ANOTHER PHONE SAYING MY E-MAIL ACCOUNT WAS BEING HACKED AND WANTED ACCESS TO MY COMPUTOR TO FIX PROBLEM. I PUT THEM OFF FOR A WEEK TILL I CAN SEE WHAT IS GOING ON. CREDIT CARD COMPANY SAID IT WAS A CHARGE MADE OUT OF CHINA

Went to my Mom's on 1/3/18. She was on phone with tech support, had been for 2 hrs. already. She said they were fixing machine, that she had received a pop up saying that her machine had a virus, they worked with MicroSoft and to call 888-287-7381. Her computer was locked up, including mouse and keypad. They were in it. I became suspicious and texted my brother. He was concerned too. About an hour later she gets off the phone. I had already called the Geek Squad to ask them about it. They said never to respond to any pop ups, and it was a scam. They also said that you should never be contacted by anyone regarding a virus. If you have one, you would contact someone to have it checked out. My Mom had given them her Amex Card to secure a protection plan. I quickly called Amex. They had sent my Mom an email from AmEx Fraud already, because the transaction had been flagged. While the computer was locked up by Easy Tech, THEY had responded to my Mom's email from AmEx, to go ahead and approve the transaction!! It was paid, but Mom is protected. Everything turned over to Fraud department. Made an appointment that day to totally clean her computer. Closed all accounts. While I was on phone with AmEx, the person called back ( from India perhaps ) 5 times. ( didn't answer - he left messages ) The total calls that day were 13. They have called her 2 times every day since. Interesting note, when email receipt from AmEx came, the amount charged was in Chinese currency! Initial person called himself Mark Bishop. Additional phone #s used by them are 855-442-2935, 855-666-1991. They have sent 3 emails, one with a PDF, which I won't open. ( saved emails )
