Hi there,

I inadvertently tried to change my address here today thinking it was the actual USPS website. I didn’t realize it until a charge of $39 appeared in my account despite this website alerting me that my card was rejected. I hope that I am not additionally charged for the multiple times I tried to send it again. This website is a bit deceitful disguising itself as a USPS website (usps.easyaddressupdate.com) and then charging $39 instead of $1 despite alerts that the card couldn’t be verified. I don’t trust that there won’t be additional charges for my other attempts as well.

https://usps.easyaddressupdate.com/ was the fake landing page used to lure the victim into using the address for a change of address. Despite not being affiliated with the USPS, the website hid this information in small text at the bottom of the webpage and didn't even reveal the amount that would be charged until their Terms of Service were read on a separate webpage. The USPS charges $1.05 for change of address, but this website charged $39.95 (according to the victim's credit card statement). Apparently this sum includes "processing fees" and a "voluntary donation". This voluntary donation was not mentioned in any part of the billing process and the victim only saw this after the fact on a separate terms of service webpage which wasn't agreed to during the transaction.
