Early Moments Reports & Reviews (3)

I received an offer in the mail for 5 Dr. Seuss books for $5.95. It was advertised as a one time purchase. It came with multiple other offers for first time moms (I am expecting my first child). The offer was with other reputable companies so I trusted it and ordered the one time purchase deal. This company signed me up for a subscription without my consent and charged me $18.96 a month later. I googled the company and saw that this is a common issue where customers think they are making a one time purchase and they are signed up to a subscription. It is a severely unethical practice to trick people who miss the "fine print" that you "claim" was on the offer (which I no longer have) into signing up for a subscription. I am typically not the type to fall for these scams and feel very violated and taken advantage of by this company.

I signed up for what I thought was a one time payment for a book package for my son which was adversities on my Facebook page. It was advertised as a special offer for Dr. Suess' birthday. To my surprise they are planning to send me continuous monthly packages and charging my card which I NEVER agreed to. Also when I tried to cancel it is very difficult. You cannot cancel online and can't even find how to do so on the website when you log in. I had to google and found many other people reporting the same issue described above. Luckily someone (not the company) provided a number you must call during their business hours (while I work). Also to cancel over the phone I'm supposed to provide an account number which can only be found on the invoice they sent (not online, even though a customer number is provided on line). On top of not being transparent about intentions to continually charge your credit card they make it as difficult as possible to cancer. I hope they are exposed and lose the ability take advantage of people like this ever again.

Early Moments has a membership program where you agree to pay a certain amount for books shipped to you every 3 months or so. This is a bit inconvenient as Early Moments never notifies me of an impending shipment so I fail to cancel it in time. I can live with this.

Early Moments now has what they call Free Preview shipments where they ship you a book and you have seven days to determine if you want to keep the book, at which point you are charged. According to records on earlymoments.com, the book was shipped and my credit card was charged the next business day. I now have to go through the process of requesting a chargeback.

What makes this horrible is that I received the book on 03/01/2017, a full 19 days after they shipped it (2/10/2017) and a full 18 days after they charged me (2/11/2017).

It is impossible to cancel your membership online; they are not responsive to emails; there is no way to delete your credit card number.
