I had been applying for work at home positions through various online job recruiters, so when the first email came stating they were reviewing my application for their work at home position, I didn't think twice because I thought it was one of the companies I had applied to. The email is in the screen shot attached. I never replied to the email because I was too busy but then yesterday, a week after I received the email I received a text message, that came supposedly from the recruiting dept and they have my full name, making it seem more legit that I had applied. I responded that it was me and they wanted to interview me for the position and asked me if I was still interested which I said sure, they said I would need to download Google chats to perform the interview. I didn't have it so I downloaded it from the Google website and they gave me the name of the person that I was supposed to invite to chat. I did all that and the person asked me a series of job related interview questions. I did think at first it was weird, because I've never had a complete chat interview but in this day and age with all the social Media stuff going on, I figured it was a preliminary interview and that the real one will come after. I did find weird that I asked me what banking institution I worked with so that they could see if it was compatible with their payroll system. I didn't give him my banking information but I did tell them what bank I used. They said I was hired, but that I need to buy specific equipment for the job. They said they would send me a check, the next day and that I was to contact them again when I received the check for more instructions I'm where to buy the materials because they had a specific vendor that they purchase from. This was all towards the end of the Google chat, and supposedly I'm going to be receiving a check today. But up until the end I figured it could have been legit. But then I remember seeing on TV about a scam with using car wraps that a person would get a check mail to them to advertise the car apps on their car, but that check would turn out to be fraudulent and whoever deposited it in their bank account would be left with the debt. So this morning, I've searched on here the ScamPulse.com website for scams, and came up with a couple of different others similar to mine. Different company names but sounds about the same as what happened to me. Again the company name is Dylan construction Inc, and it looks based out of California. They had a link to their website, which I like a dummy checked out, so I don't know if I compromised my computer or my contacts. I never thought I'd fall when one of these scams, please be aware and if you're applying for jobs online like I am, please write down the names of all the companies you apply to so that if you get contacted by unknown company you don't fall into the scam.
