A foreign gentleman called our place of business, stated that he was calling from Duke Energy and that we were past due in our utilities. He gave me a number to call for the accounting department with Duke Energy. 1-844-369-6522 x1701, the phone actually says it is Duke Energy. Another foreign gentleman stated that we were past due in paying the utility bill and that a technician would be here in 30 minutes to turn off the power. I asked if they mailed us an invoice and to what address. He stated yes and gave me our mailing address. I asked if he could email me one right now, he stated yes, what is the email address. I stated you should have it on file, unless this is a scam. He then hung up on me. Called Duke Energy to confirm that our account is up to date and also reported the scam to them.
