Received a text message saying I could renew my drivers license. I clicked the link and entered my social security number and DL number and now I think I was scammed.

I was looking for the website torenew my Texas drivers license. I googled what I was looking for and the procurelicense.com web site came up. It said it was not a governmental website but I believed Texas had subcontracted out their license renewals to this site. The site claimed that by answering all questions and paying the renewal fee I would receive my renewed license. They asked for all kinds of identifying information including social security number, address, current drivers license number and audit number. Just before I was to enter my credit card information my husband came home and looked at the web site. He told me he did not believe this was a legitimate web site. He googled it and found it it was not. I cancelled out of the web site immediately and did not enter my credit card information. These web sites should be shut down and prosecuted for fraud. They are very misleading to the elderly and people that speak English as a second language. The website is ProcureLicense.com
