Ordered cat tree, paid over $45. Received image I will attach. Have been in email exchange for two months to no avail. This is a complete SCAM! Attorney General needs to get involved.

I saw an ad on Facebook for a cat tree and it looked incredibly cute. I sent it to my significant other who encouraged me to get it. I purchased it through PayPal at approximately 7:34 and then received an order confirmation email from a seemingly personal gmail account which raised a red flag. I noticed my address on the order confirmation was also wrong so I emailed back around 10:31 to ask them to update my shipping address. Upon further research, their name, PayPal account name, PayPal email also did not match and it looked like the image of the cat tree was a common photo found in a lot of places on multiple dubious websites. Everything smelled fishy so I emailed them saying I wanted to cancel my order at 15:53. They responded asking for my address at 19:08 and I replied I wanted to cancel my order. At 18:04 the next day, I received a response saying "No cancellation, sorry" despite the merchant website stating: "We accept order cancellation before the product is shipped or produced. If the order is cancelled you will get full refund. We cannot cancel the order if the product is already shipped out. " Note: The product has not been shipped out. Now, I am still trying to cancel my order with them while disputing the transaction via PayPal and the bank. I'm glad I caught this early on, but I am now fearful of making online purchases. I wish Facebook had better filters for who could place ads, but good thing I'm thinking about deleting my Facebook account.
