I contacted Dream Akitas by their email listed in the ad regarding an Akita puppy we were interested in. I received a email back explaining their purchase policy and shipping policy for their puppies. They sent a purchase contract, which we signed and sent back. We sent a bank to bank payment, and they were to ship the puppy the next day. The next day I received a email from, "United Express Shipping" stating that the seller had the puppy in a sub standard crate, and I would have to rent one for $173, plus a refundable $1800 damage deposit. I called the shipper and he said it was for a air conditioned, pressurized crate. I told the shipper to give the puppy back to the seller. I called dream akitas and was offered that they would pay $1300 of the deposit if I could pay the rest. I said I just wanted my money back. He said he'd return it in 3 weeks. It's now been 4 weeks, and he no longer returns my emails, and the phone goes straight to voicemail.

Now I see an exact site selling the same puppies, under the name of

NOBLE AKITAS!! Now their prices are $800 per puppy.

Me and my husband decided to start looking for an akita puppy. We have one and we love the breed so much we want a pair. I looked on Houston Chronicle classifieds and Dream Akitas have an ad advertising 9 week old akita puppies for $750.00. I contacted through his email. He said the puppy we wanted named Fora was available. We set an appointment to come see her on August 12th at noon. He texted me right before we supposed to leave and said he had to fly out of town and wouldn't be back until Tuesday. He wanted me to wire a $400.00 deposit to his Chase bank account. I did research on this breeder and thought he was reputable. I wired the money on August 9th, a few days before our first appointment. When he went out of town we rescheduled for Saturday August 18th at 11:00 a.m. After waiting all week for our puppy, he texted me Friday August 17th changing the date for Sunday August 19th. This upset me, so my husband called him and said we just wanted our deposit, which the breeder had stated would be refundable for any reason. I sent him my info for him to wire back into my account. He never refunded and now he won't answer my texts or calls. I heard of these scams and thought I had done adequate research. He even sent me a contract to sign. I have all his emails, texts and a copy of the contract as well as proof of my wire. I want this man stopped before he does this to other people who only want a puppy.
