Scammer posted a job on LinkedIn for employment with DR Horton. Contacted me by email to send in my resume. Subsequent email was to set up an interview through Google Hangouts. Interview was conducted by chat, not video call. Offered me the job and emailed me the offer letter. I was instructed to sign and return the offer letter with a copy of a picture ID. Catch was I was supposed to send it back that same day or the offer was void. They said they were going to send me a check to pay for office supplies and equipment to set up a home office, as this was a remote position. And they were going to send me the equipment the following week, which didn't make sense. Why would they send me a check and send me the supplies too. I did not return the offer letter or send them a copy of my ID.

They did however send me a check a couple of days later. Even though I didn't sign or send them the offer letter.

I contacted DR Horton and they confirmed that this was a scam. I emailed the scammers to let them know that I'm not interested in the position and not to send me the supplies and equipment. That's the story so far.
