A private number called me looking for my mother, stating she has a debt that is in collections. The person on the other end of the call, gave me a direct number, name of company with phone number and a reference number. I called to speak to a severely rude woman that told me my mother owes an substantially large amount of money for a credit card debt. When I tried to tell the woman that my mother is in a nursing home with Mid-stage dementia and I know that she NEVER had a credit card in her name, she told me that she would settle the debt with my bank account, wanting my information. When I refused to give it to her, telling her that I didn't not only have the money to cover the debt, she hung up on me. I called her back stating I was going to contact BBB, she called me a "f'n B. I hung up on her to contact BBB. Not sure how this company had ALL of my mother's personal information, with her maiden name, Birthday,SSN#, several different places of residence.
