Received email urging to file for update VMT Information with FMCSA which affects CSA Score & SMS percentile rating. This information is to be updated regularly and the name of the company/website was very close to DOT government agency.
It plays on your fears by making you think that it would jeopardize my company's ability to do business if you don't do it right away.
Was told after the fact that it was a known scam and that the service is normally free.

bottom of letter has: DOT Service is not part of the Department of Transportation on letter & a words along bottom of website
No address, person to contact listed on the letter. There is a website & I initially went there to leave a message & when looking it up, saw warning sites about a scam. Many listed sites as a scam
Fortunately, I did not proceed & am contacting you for verification on this matter.
Please look into this as I believe this is not valid.
