I contacted someone at my university about a job opportunity. I later received an email about a job offer. I applied for the job and there was a number listed if questions needed to be asked. I contacted the number and ended up sending it my resume. A few days later I participated in an interview over the phone and was asked to give contact info such as my name, number, address, etc. I was also asked where I do my banking so they could see if they would have any issues sending checks. After a while, I was notified by the same number that I would need to purchase a significant amount of supplies for the job. I declined because I would spend more than I would make since this is a short-term position. The person continued to pressure me into taking the job. I later identified it as a scam and decided to report it, in case my bank account got hacked. I never gave out any account or social security numbers.
