I am a fishing outfitter in Montana and I got an email inquiry from what I thought was a potential customer. They identified themselves as being from outside the US. At first, the inquiry was similar to actual authentic inquiries that I have gotten from abroad in the past.

They claimed to be a group of four interested in booking 12 days worth of guided fishing trips. They asked specific questions about my services that I provide making the inquiry seem like a real legitimate potential booking.

When it came time for me to book their trip by taking a deposit they replied asking me to charge their credit card but then make a payment to their "travel agent" claiming that their travel agents credit card machine is not working.

This was the red flag for me that triggered me to report a potential scam.

I received this deposit request through email this morning. I was asked to agree to the these "payment terms" with them and then they would supply credit card information.

I have not responded since and have not received any credit card info from them. The only form of communication that I have had is through email.
