"Louis Conway" had a spanish derivative accent like Dominican republic or something but he was kind enough right at first. He said my electric bill was past due and going to be disconnected imminently, but dodged any questions about specifics. He would not accept credit card or debit card payments and directed me to food lion and dollar general near me, which I'd unfortunately revealed to him because I had 2 power bills for 2 homes and had to determine which was to be disconnected. I brought up the utility freeze since covid19 and he callously ignored my distress (I was crying in frustration and still recovering from the illness) He spoke very slowly and carefully, told me each step to buying a moneypak card at the store down the road, i now believe it was a tactic to distract me with unnecessary detail in order to pressure me and make me malleable in furtherance of the 294.05 bill. He tried to avoid any queries about when the power would be disconnected, actually said the words"ive put myself out on a limb with the Dominion workers by saying you would pay. I'VE GIVEN YOU MY WORD I WILL HELP YOU TO RESOLVE THIS AND I WILL" Adroitly moved back to cash card issue-they needed a cash card instead of my credit card (yes, I was sick enough to not be my usual suspicious self) I also had some trouble with my voice, which I think made him believe I was elderly. None of his factual information was at all accurate but it was FEASIBLE. (In my panic and physically ill state) He began to instruct me rather forcefully and demanded upon my honor that I would call him back with card information. He said "God bless you, you better call me back". The red flags were too numerous, and I checked my bill, saw he was full of it, and called back. By that time I was NOT sounding like an elderly woman who just woke up from a nap, and I asked him if he had ever heard of the FTA. I said "hopefully you will get to know the federal trade commission very well." He then screamed that ** ***** **** ** *** ** ********* ****** ** * ****** ***** *, and I brazened my own anxiety by responding "does your mother know that you are doing this during a pandemic?" He began to scream at me again and I hung up.
