Guy Called saying he was from Dominion Energy. Saying they had technicians on the way to disconnect my power to replace meters. Said I had to pay 300 dollars within the half hour to avoid disruption. I asked to speak to a supervisor, because my account is up to date, and I received no such letter in the mail seven weeks ago, as he insisted I did. "Ma'am , am I not helping you?" Over and over.

Then got several text messages saying "We are sorry your electrical services will be suspended today at, 4:00 pm automatically from our system. Sometimes it takes 48 to 72 hours to go back on, you will have to pay US $450.00 dollars to get your power reinstall plus the amount due. Thank you for choosing Dominion Energy! Have a great day!"

“Representative of “VA Power” called to say I was delinquent on my bill since January. They were extremely hard to understand and seemed to take that personally when I complained I could not decipher what they were saying. He said he was giving me a case # so get paper and pencil. When I said this was so odd he was calling because I have automatic withdrawal at my bank, he hung up. Another odd thing was the number that came up on my Recent calls” is the same as Dominion Va Power. Of course, no representatives are working today- it’s Sunday.

Received phone call from woman claiming to be from Dominion Energy saying our account was delinquent and our service would be shut off within the hour unless payment was received. Provided our Dominion Energy account number and home address before realizing it was a scam. Said they had dispatched employees to disconnect our service but no one showed up. She attempted to collect $638 for past bills.

3/20/20 6:13 pm: I was contacted by someone posing a a Dominion Energy representative by voicemail ( 1-757-516-4790 out of Franklin, Va). The individual left the message that my account reflects a disconnect order for today, and to call them to avoid being disconnected. My account is in good standing. I do know that Dominion Power never calls you about a disconnect notice, they notify in writing only. I don’t want anyone to be scammed, so I’m reporting this.

Numerous times a day we get calls saying it's Dominion Energy and our power will be cut off within 30 minutes. We are told to call 866-447-6650 and make a payment immediately.

An automated voice recording saying they were Dominion Energy & our natural gas service would be cut off in 30 minutes due to non-payment of overdue bill. Advised us to call a different number from the one they called in with. I called the number they called in from instead to see what I got & shockingly it was Dominion Energy in Virginia. They transferred me to NC and they verified our account was not past due & that they would send notices by mail before ever trying to contact us by phone. Then I called the 1-800 number they told me to call in the recording, just to see what happened, and I got someone with a very heavy accent that I could barely understand. I told him I was returning a call from that number & he asked me to hold. No one ever picked up. We have gotten these calls before pretending to be from our electric provider, but this was the first pretending to be our gas service.
