I wish I had done more research before hiring Dixon Deshon for a backyard remodel in Prescott. I found his contact information on Facebook Marketplace, where he had posted about his services. After discussing the project through Messenger, we agreed on a total cost of $1,904, requiring a deposit of $952 to start the work.
I met him at his residence at 17007 W. Hammond St., Goodyear, AZ 85338, where I handed him a cashier's check for the deposit. Initially, he was polite and responsive, sending me sketches and discussing the project in detail. However, after I paid him, he never showed up to do the work.
The day we were supposed to start, he texted me claiming his grandfather had been in an accident. I was sympathetic and waited for him, but he never arrived. Since then, he has completely vanished, ignoring all my calls and messages.
I later spoke with his grandfather, Rodney, who confirmed that I am not the first person looking for Dixon regarding similar issues. It is concerning to know he has been doing this to multiple individuals. On Facebook, he is also posted under Kevin Waterfall, which may be helpful for others.
Sincerely,
