My mom was contacted by a company called Divine Tech Solutions. They told her she was being hacked by Nigerian hackers and she let them take over her computer so they could "show" her. The man pulled up all of her tax information, social security numbers, bank account numbers, etc. She first purchased "internet security" for $449, then they said she needed lifetime security for $998. They called her back and told her the initial software they sold her was outdated and she needed a new package for $998. The man took over her computer again to show her that the hackers were hacking into her personal accounts "right now" and she was so frightened that she paid them for this protection. He told her since they were hacking her real time she should pay them in cash instead of using a credit card because it wasn't safe so she used some kind of cashier's check that they sent her. When I called to speak with the man he because extremely rude and degrading. She lost $2500 to this company before she reached out to me.
