Hello, I am a mental health case manager, and an individual I work with received a call from this number/company reporting that he owes money to them. They told the individual that the companies name is Shakira Technology and that he owes money for making/accepting collect calls from a prison in Anchorage. They also told the individual that if they did not pay the balance off by this Friday, July 1st, 2016, that there will be a late fee charged to the account. After looking up the phone number they gave him to call back to pay off the balance, I found that other people have reported that this company may be a scam. I would like to help the individual I work with not get taken advantage of by become a victim of a scam. The individual has not paid them any money as they have a state appointed conservator, whom I have already informed of the situation.
