A Mr John called my 86 year old mother's phone but she handed the phone to me, because he was hard to understand. (Which is the first clue for a SCAM.) Saying he was from Dish Network and verified my address phone number which was correct . He said they needed to update the software in their system. Told me to hold down menu button on remote give him serial number some other number off receiver. Long story short was going to give me $10.. credit on my bill for twenty four months but needed me to give him $199.00 for the software upgrade.. Also the number that showed up on the called ID was Dish network's number. But Dish did not do this..
