Discover bank, advertises CD Rates, what they don't visibly advertise is that when You open that CD at the rate advertised, they do not fix that rate until they actually deposit the funds into that account. (Annual Percentage Yield (APY) is accurate as of 02/15/2023, is subject to change without notice, and will be determined and fixed for the term at funding. ) This disclaimer is only visible if you click on the small astric and in very small print along with other disclaimers it's there. NOW , THEIR USE OF THIS. The day the CD was opened, the rate dropped. Funding for the account would take several days because of the type of CD. In that time Discover dropped it another almost 1/2 percent. ( While doing this, Fed Interest Rates are stil increasing.) NOT THE CROOKED PART IS THAT IN THE 10 DAYS FOLLOWING THE OPENING OF THE CD they dropped the rate 3 time, Claimed they didn't get the funding check that was mailed on the 3 rd of Feb and on the 15th of Feb still didn't have the check. They admit it goes to a mail room that could take 24 to 48 hours to process the mail or even more. Considering they refuse to honor the post mark on the Mail/Check for when it was received, it appears strongly to be a scam to hold the check until the CD rate drops to where they want it. At current rate of 1/2 percent every days I expect the check to be processed possibly in the next two to three weeks. DISCOVER BANK DROPPED THE ADVERTISE RATE AT THE SAME TIME FEDS ARE RAISING RATES. CEARLY ON THE DISCOVER BANK PAGE ADVERTISING THE CD AND RATE IT STATES. ( Lock in your CD rate to earn guaranteed interest ) which implies , open the cd to lock in the rates. It doesn't mention in plain view, OPEN and FUND your CD to lock in rates. MIS LEADING SCAMMERS THAT DELAY POSTINGS OF FUNDING UNTIL PREVENTING RECEIVING ADVERTISED CD RATE.
