Received an email through my college email about an employment opportunity that paid $320 weekly. The person claimed to work for health and human services and said they received my email through the Human Resources Department. They began asking me to purchase check paper then send zelle transfers and gift cards in certain amounts. The first “refund checks” I received went through fine but ones I received later on were detected as fraud by my bank. They kept asking for payments even though I said I did not have any funds so I began borrowing money. When other checks they sent wouldn’t go through they said a wire transfer would be better but in the end refused to give me the refunds due to them supposedly only being able to transfer $20,000 at a time and that I was $3,500 away from that amount. I have filed a police report and a dispute with my bank.
