I received 4 calls from 800-531-5000 within 8 hours to offer me a special deal on DirecTV for existing customers. Caller spoke poor English. They offered $59.99/mo for 24 months including premium channels and NFL Sunday Ticket. The catch is I would have to go to the store and purchase an Amazon gift card for $300 to pay the first 5 months of service up front. If it was legit and they billed me as usual, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Looked it up online because of the odd payment method and it is indeed a scam. I hung up and before I could block the number, they were already calling me back.
