I've been receiving calls from a number that shows up on my caller ID as "Direct TV". The calls have been coming in non stop since 7am this morning..it is now 12pm noon. When I started to first answer the caller states that I would be able to receive a $100 VISA card if I pay $500.00 upfront and it would cover the next 5 months of my service with Direct TV. After I declined the offer, I immediately called Direct TV and advised them of the calls I was receiving and they assured me they were not not the ones making those calls. They advised me that any promotions they offered would require the consumer to call in directly. The past few times I have answered the scam calls, I now just hear just dead silence. I have not provided any personal or financial information to these callers.
