I was contacted supposed from ATT/Direct TV (888) 749-5611 offering a 2 yr fixed price for Direct TV (all channels, etc) for $89.99/mo. Caller stated that EBay was partnering with DirectTV on this promotion and underwriting it. To take advantage of the offer I would need to pay $360 up front via ebay gift card to cover the first 4 months of hte promotion - would not be billed again until the 5th month. He told me to go to any walgreen/cvs etc to purchase the ebay care (if need could be split into 2 cards, $200 & $160). I was told to call back once I got the ebay gift cards and give him promotion code DTV24589. If I tood care of this before 7:00 p.m. today (1/10/20) I'd also receive a $100 visa gift card.

I called DirectTV at 800-directv to inquire and confirmed that this id DEFINITELY a scam. DirecTV DOESNOT call thier customers with promotional offers ever. She put notes on Goggle to alert others that it is a scam as well as notified the appropriate department.

I was contacted, by this person, through text message, about Satellite services. No installation or deposit with a free $200 gift card. He stated his name was Isaac an authorized retailer for Directv. No money was given. No ssn number given. Just my husbands name, our address, phone number and email. Isaac stated that he would email the service agreement and we scheduled an appointment for the services to be done. No one came for the appointment, no one called to say they need to reschedule. No email. Nothing. Just seems weird. We did try to call the number provided. No answer as well.

They called saying direct tv has a promotion for $69 for two years. But I have to go buy a gift card for $289. And then call them and give them the code off the card. When I said no and hung up Friday they called back today trying to get me to do it.
