Got a call saying I qualify for cheaper fee for service $75/month for next 3 years but had to pay first 5 months in advance but had to put it on eBay cards because eBay sponsored the promotion.

Then realized it was a scam, searched for eBay customer service number and got scammed by them again. They told him he had to get more eBay cards in order to get the money back.

"Promotions department" of Direct TV offering reduced monthly rate plus additional channels, $150 in VISA gift card. Must pay first 4 months of service with Amazon gift card. After purchase of card was to call Direct TV promotions dept and pay first 4 months of 24 month promotion with Amazon card and give promotions code. After 4 months billing would go back to normal.

Robo call that connected to an operator. Operator described new DirectTV promotion that would cut my monthly bill in half. Operator spoke with an Indian accent. I was transferred to a "manager" who went on to describe this offer was sponsored by Amazon (He had a more Americanized accent, but I could tell English was not his first language). He said to take advantage of this offer, I had to purchase an Amazon gift card for $250 (this was to "prepay" the first 4 months of the "offer.") from Walgreens or CVS. Then call the number he gave me and use the promotion code (he gave that, as well.) I was told if I did it today, I would receive a bonus of $100 Visa prepaid card.

The number he told me to call after purchasing the $250 Amazon card is 1-888-314-0329. The promo code he gave was DTV87687.

Was phoned and offered long term direct tv discount with phone number to verify authenticity. Called direct tv prior to buying $300 gift card to pre pay acct for 2 yr savings deal. Purchased amazon gift card called back direct tv to apply and beloved I was fine. They claimed 24-48 hours to take effect. Got busy and now 3 weeks later I am verifying this and find out it was bogus

Was called by so-called Direct TV promotions department from the number 800-531-5000 and offered a discount off my monthly AT&T bill if I paid 4 months in advance. I was asked to go to Walgreens and purchase an Amazon gift card for $250, then call them back at 1-888-314-0329 and give them the promotion code of DTV064030.

This is just a scam but I played along so as to get as much information as possible.
