I received a call regarding an overdue invoice from Kim Taylor with Direct Data USA. I did not recognize the company name. I asked for a copy of the order, but was told the order was placed over the phone. She did produce a recording which was me; however, there was not enough of the recording to verify that consent had been given. When I asked for a longer recording, she said that was all she had. The service was a listing on their website and submission of our information to online search engines. There is no way in which we would have ordered this service. We have a very limited advertising budget, and this is not something we are interested in paying for. Because she produced the recording, I feel I have no way of proving that the service was not ordered, but I know that it was not. I'm afraid if I don't pay the invoice, it will be turned over to collections. They have called repeatedly regarding payment.
