Digital River invoiced me almost $200 for renewal of a service I had never received from them. I already had an established subscription from a different company than Digital River.

Return scam. These guys have tried it 3 times. I've notified the FTC, my bank, my cc's and Paypal. The latest scam involved "we'll deduct your yearly payment from your cc and then refund it." I laughed and told them that was out of the question, that I didn't want to be billed in the first place and that - frankly - they're a bunch of thieves. "Digital River" said we'll do that for you. They won't but I cancelled my cc's anyway (about 3 weeks ago). They've taken nearly $200 and all of my files - they attempted to hold the files for ransom! This does not include the costs incurred when I cleaned my computer, etc. Everything was gone; the techs couldn't break the encryption. Ironically, according to the ScamPulse.com they have an A+ rating, but all of the reviews were "ones." I remember looking them up before I placed the business. Seeing the page saying A+ and then calling a day. Please take care of that.
