Someone called the office and demanded payment for a past due bill from 11/08/2019. The person was very aggressive and insisted we pay right away to avoid additional charges. They also stated the person in our office whos name was listed on the invoice would face a bad credit rating if the debt was not paid in full. First of all our business would never use an employee as a point of payment or make a purchase in an employees name. Secondly, the address listed on the invoice was incorrect. The other thing that really stood out was the caller kept demanding payment over the phone so we insisted they send an invoice with information so we can give it to our accountant. They did email an invoice but it had many errors on it. overall the persistence of payment is what made us realize this was a scam. our business always use the business logo when ordering or adding something that is for the office.
