I received an invoice in the mail from a nameless auto insurance company addressed to my elementary aged son to renew a lapsing warranty - Endurance - on his vehicle. Clearly, my child has no such warranty, so it was an easy scam to spot; however, the form itself looks professional and could be misleading to others. I also have serious concerns about how they got my child's personal information as he is extremely young to be on any mailing lists. When you call in response to the 'vehicle document/alert notice' they will ask for your 'vehicle code' on the form. Then they begin asking for more personal information. I don't know how far they go before they ask for money, as I was less than professional with them. But I'd be very surprised if you get a real warranty at the end of this line of questioning.

On the form below, I have put my demographic information vs my son. My guess is that they didn't even realize they had targeted someone so young and had received their information illegally.

This person called my mother's phone 3 times. I answered the 2nd and 3rd calls. The 2nd caller claimed to be with a company that was giving away free security systems. She began to tell me about how the installation would be free and I told her I was not interested. The phone rang again about an hour later. I answered again and it was the same woman(I recognised her voice). She now said she was with a company giving health insurance quotes. I told her to stop calling. All three #s began with 260-442. When uncalled them all back, one said it had been changed, one just beeped quickly and the 3rd said the voicemail had not been set up.

Answered phone and the caller asked if I was the one who pays the electric bill and my answer yes..they then hung up I tried to call the # back and it's busy at all times. I usually don't answer calls unknown but i was rushing around and it threw me off gaurd. Also have call block but this did not seem to help.

After I said "hello" the recording said "hello?!!" and I said "yes?" and the recording talked about an issue with a headset then went into a spiel about resort properties. was clearly that scam happening where they record you saying "yes." would love some information on what I need to do now that I've been dumb and done so

- Novi, MI, USA

Caller said he was calling from "Customer Service" and asked if I could hear him okay. Unfortunately I responded "yes" without thinking. He went on to say that I had been selected for a free vacation. I hung up and that's when I remembered that these scammers record a person saying yes and then use it to open accounts etc.

On 09-23-16 I received a phone call from 314-449-9790. The person on the phone had a foreign accent and spoke very fast. The said my doctor prescribed a new medication for me. The medication was a topical medication. They did not tell me the name of the company. When I asked what doctor prescribed this medication and the doctor's name, they hung up.
